We sat down with Forrest to hear the story firsthand.
How did you and Lindsay meet?
During my first year of physician training at the same hospital where Lindsay works as a registered nurse. The kind of origin story that makes sense in hindsight.
The proposal — tell us everything.
A beach in Costa Rica at sunset. I had her completely convinced I didn't even have a ring yet. When I got down on one knee she was genuinely shocked. That's exactly how I wanted it.
What's the plan for the big day?
Ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown OKC, followed by the reception at Slate. We wanted the evening to end somewhere that felt like a destination — somewhere that would take everyone's breath away.
How did you find Slate?
We stumbled across it while searching for venues online. The moment we visited in person we were mesmerized. We knew immediately we had to have our reception there.
What are you most looking forward to?
Being surrounded by the people we love most on one of the happiest days of our lives. Everything else is just the backdrop — but what a backdrop it's going to be.
